French : curriculum intent

Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) is a wonderful subject that allows children to broaden their horizons and consider life outside the area they are growing up in. At Marshland Primary Academy, we teach our children to speak French.

At Marshland Primary Academy we believe that our children should become more aware of the wider world, a skill that is increasingly important in today’s society. We want our children to feel confident when meeting new people, using other languages and engaging with the wider world. Through applying speaking, listening, reading and writing skills pupils will gain a broad understanding of a foreign language which will be a foundation for them to build on throughout their education.
